New Vision Television Upgrades WYFX to High Definition

New Vision Television of Youngstown, which owns or operates four stations in the Youngstown, Ohio market, completed a planned upgrade to their broadcast signal for their Fox affiliate WYFX. 

This new upgrade completed October 4th will allow viewers in the Mahoning Valley to receive WYFX in High Definition over the air or through satellite or cable systems.

Over the air customers may need to rescan their tuners and televisions to receive the upgraded signal. Viewers will now be able to watch their favorite shows, such as American Idol, House, X-Factor, New Girl, along with MLB, NASCAR and the NFL, all in high definition.

KHON2 News Team Awarded For Journalism Excellence

KHON2 reporters and videographers took home eleven awards for journalism excellence at the Society of Professional Journalists, Hawaii Chapter ceremony on July 25th.

The first place winners under the spot news reporting category was awarded to anchor/reporter Ron Mizutani and videographer Greg Lau for creative story-telling coverage of last year’s tsunami scare

In the series reporting/documentary/special program category, first place was award to anchor/reporter Marisa Yamane and videographer Justin Kanno for outstanding enterprise and ingenuity in finding story subjects, and bringing out an emotional response for their report on the recovery efforts a year after the American Samoa tsunami.

KHON2 News also won numerous finalists awards, as listed below including five for reporter Brianne Randle. Congratulations to all the KHON2 winners!
